Skim/LAX Challenge

This session combines the sports of lacrosse and skimboarding in a beach environment. Anyone who has followed or attended our camps over the years may know that the idea for Alley Oop Skim Camp came from founder Corey Mahoney attending lacrosse camps in high school.  For years, especially in the Mid-Atlantic area, many boys and girls have enjoyed playing lacrosse in the spring, and when summer rolls around it's time to skimboard. Many of our counselors and campers over the years have shared both of these passions. The Skim/Lax Challenge will be the first camp to combine both interests for a week of fun.

Suitable for all skill levels, this week long session consists of skimboarding and lacrosse instruction, demonstration and practice mixed with challenges, team building activities and plenty of summer fun. Food, drink and shade are provided during the day. Our experienced instructors will give motivation and encouragement throughout the week while passing along their skim, lacrosse and beach knowledge to help participants gain confidence and comfort skimboarding and playing lacrosse.

Since we are on the beach and not in a normal lacrosse environment, this will be a “non-contact” lacrosse camp. The drills we do will be geared toward working on stick skills. Helmets, face guards and gloves are recommended but not required.
